Decision 2024: Tire Vs. Tweel
Options are good.
At Ferris we believe that those who operate our equipment should be able to choose whether they want to ride on traditional air-filled tires or new Michelin Tweels. So we’re offering both. For those of you wondering what the difference is, read on…
Michelin Tweels
Imagine a tire that never goes flat. Sounds too good to be true?
Michelin Tweel airless radial tires are made with a solid inner hub, flexible spokes, and a tough outer tread. The result? A tire that’s as tough as they come, without the hassle of flats or blowouts. The Tweel comes in two sizes, 24 x 12 which is featured on our ISX3300, ISX2200 60”, & SRS Z3 60” / 72”, and a 26 x 12 which fits our ISX3300 model.
In addition to being flat-free, the Michelin Tweels are low maintenance, long lasting and built to withstand harsh conditions. And the durable tread maintains excellent traction offering reliable performance.
Air-Filled Tires
Traditional tires, the ones most of us are familiar with, rely on air pressure to maintain their shape and function. They provide decent cushioning and traction, but along with that comes occasional flats, maintenance, and the need for regular air pressure checks.
For landscapers and lawn enthusiasts who love the feel and performance of traditional tires and take pride in maintaining just the right tire pressure for the terrain, Ferris continues to offer air filled tires as an option on all of our mower units.
So, the choice is yours. Stop by your local Ferris dealer to check out the new Tweels and see if they feel right for you and your business.
